Regina Pascua-Berba ’87: Outstanding Medical Service Award

Dr. Regina Pascua-Berba, UPCM 1987, has dedicated her career to service of patients and the practice Infectious Diseases at the PGH. Previously a recipient of the Outstanding Researcher Award, has successfully translated her work in research into tangible benefit in the clinical practice of Infectious Diseases in the Philippines. She is the National Chair of the Philippine Coalition against Tuberculosis and Head of the Infection Control Unit of the PGH. She also leads the Blood Infection Committee and the Leptospirosis Task Force, putting to good use her experience in policy shaping and program management for improvement of health outcomes among the poor and indigent patients of PGH. She is a leading force in the national Antimicrobial Stewardship Program cited by the WHO.
